Save the Date: Sundance Heads to CDMX for a Second Time

May 29-June 1: Sundance Film Festival CDMX 2025

The Sundance Film Festival (and friend of Latina Media Co) is returning to CDMX at the end of the month – May 29-June 1 to be precise. The famed indie showcase is bringing 15 feature and five short films to the Mexican capitol in partnership with Cinépolis. The main venue is Cinépolis Diana as the festival imports favorites from this year’s Salt Lake, UT event to a distinctly less snowy environment.

The selected films include some of our Latinx favorites – including Selena y Los Dinos, SALLY, and The Virgin of the Quarry Lake – in addition to films portraying other communities. Alejandro Ramírez, CEO of Cinépolis, said the lineup not only features “The best from the latest edition of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, but it also represents the most outstanding work in independent cinema worldwide.”

The brilliant folks at Sundance are bringing their signature panels, events, and programming with them to CDMX – making sure that unmistakable Sundance spirit comes through loud and clear. Tickets dropping soon!
