Sophia Costanzo is a freelance writer and filmmaker born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where her love of movies first began. Her dad would take her to the movies every weekend, and it was in the theaters they went to that celluloid heroes came to life. Inspired by the stories of her Cuban family, she knew that she wanted to write and direct films that brought more women-centered narratives and Latina representation to the screen.
