Adriana Santos is a Colombian-American playwright, screenwriter, actor, and filmmaker from Miami. She holds a BFA in Drama and minor in Creative Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA in Creative Writing with a concentration in Playwriting from The Writer’s Foundry at St. Joseph’s University in Brooklyn. Her plays, including full lengths ELENA, Catholic All Girls School, and Cris Leaves Queens, have been workshopped and produced as staged readings in New York, LA, and regionally. In 2022, Adriana co-wrote LA-based IAMA Theatre Company’s main stage play, Celestial Events, which ran to rave reviews. A TV pilot adaptation of Catholic All Girls School was an official selection of The Gotham Film and Media Institute’s Project Week and is currently in development with Gina Rodriguez’ I Can & I Will Productions. Screenwriting credits include co-writing the narrative short Shutterbird, directed by Justin R. Ching and writing The End of the Party, a short directed by Kate Sullivan. In 2023 Adriana made her directorial debut with her original short, Hey You Guys, a proof of concept for her horror feature of the same name and recently completed production on her second original short, miami, january ‘24. Adriana is a current company member of IAMA Theatre Company as a playwright and actor, an alumna of IAMA’s Emerging Playwrights Lab, Ensemble Studio Theatre LA’s New West Playwrights group and the Latinx Playwrights Circle in New York City.
